This session will provide an overview of the MOSC program requirements, review the program history and development, and introduce the learning plan system.
The Maintenance of Specialist Certification process reflects the dynamic health care environment that requires a commitment to lifelong learning and continuing clinical competence. With the MOSC program, specialists have access to a system that allows real-time capture of professional development activities throughout their certification period.
Objectives
- Discuss the history and development of the ABPTS Maintenance of Specialist Certification (MOSC) program.
- Describe the purpose for transitioning from the current recertification process to a maintenance program.
- Provide an overview and describe the process for the new MOSC program.
- Detail implications for not meeting MOSC cycle requirements.
